WordPress Post versus Page
This page is created as a Post in WordPress. Posts and Pages (such as the homepage) appear very similar to the visitor but have subtle differences. Pages usually form the basic structure of the website (Home page, Contact Us, About Us, Support etc) seen on the top menu, whereas posts are usually topic specific information that are referenced via categories or tags in the Blog or Posts section of the website.
If you don’t have many posts, they can also be attached directly to the main site menu to make them easier to find by your website visitors. This post is on the main menu under Posts/Blogs \ WordPress Basics.
Categories and Tags
Posts have categories that allow them to be easily grouped and searched-for by categories – in this case WordPress Basics.
Posts generally have one category that defines the main tone or subject of the post, but can also have multiple tags to indicate that it references a subject of interest – in this case The Movie Trailers.
